Linkin Park Live Guide - 2006 Summary
Summary: Much like 4 years prior, 2006 looks relatively empty by most standards. Linkin Park were in the midst of an 18 month writing process for their 3rd album during 2006, only playing in 4 shows in Japan. It should be noted that they did do a few things differently than normal. First and foremost to many fans, One Step Closer would no longer be the closing song for their performances and as of this day it still hasn't closed a live show. Next, the band would begin celebrating their upcoming 10 years anniversary by dragging the track Reading My Eyes out of the closet and playing it. Finally, this would be the first time that Linkin Park would appear at the same venue that Fort Minor would be performing at as well, giving Mike Shinoda double duties for these appearances. The year wasn't without it's surprises: Before embarking on the Japanese mini-tour, Linkin Park would win a Grammy Award for their collaboration with Jay-Z and perform with him and Sir Paul McCartney on the same night at the Grammys.
