- The band played unannounced and played 'Bleed It Out'. Timbaland did an intro for the song, which had a hip hop beat, keyboard effects and strings, as well as vocal samples for 'Bleed It Out'. The song itself had the breakdown after the bridge with the crowd singing, but no drum solo and no "comeback" afterwards. Chester had an unusually rough vocal performance.
- A few TV commercials said "with performances by....Linkin Park", which was the only indication given that LP was going to play. They did not announce it previously (MTV didn't) and LP didn't announce it on LP.com or via the LPU.
